Built by someone who's lived the email grind.
Mailfois is the workspace modern email teams run their whole programme in — around whatever platform they already send from. It didn't come out of a strategy deck. It came out of years of doing the job, and getting tired of everything that happens around the actual email.
The email was never the hard part.
In most teams, building the email is the quick bit. The slow, messy bit is everything around it — working out what's going out and when, chasing sign-off across email threads and Slack, keeping every send on-brand, and then hunting for "that campaign we sent last spring" long after the preview link has expired.
That work lives in spreadsheets, inboxes and people's heads. Nothing joins it up, and when someone leaves, a chunk of it walks out the door with them. Mailfois pulls it into one calm place — and, crucially, gives your team a memory of everything it's ever done.
Who’s behind it.
Mailfois is built by someone who works in email marketing and also builds apps. It started as the tool they wanted for their own work.
What always took the time was everything around the email: approvals going back and forth, checking every email is on brand, finding last year’s email after its preview link had expired, and five tools open in five tabs. There was no single place built for that whole job, so Mailfois became it.
It’s opinionated where that helps, out of the way where it doesn’t, and shaped around how email teams actually work rather than how a big platform wishes they did.
Why it's called Mailfois.
Fois is French for "times", as in une fois (once) and mille fois (a thousand times). Mailfois is mail, a thousand times over.
That's what email marketing really is. Not one big launch, but the same handful of jobs done again and again: plan it, build it, check it, get it approved, send it, file it away. A busy in-house team goes round that loop hundreds of times a year. An agency goes round it for every client, every week.
Nobody needs help doing it once. You need help on the thousandth time, when the shortcuts have piled up, the spreadsheet has seventeen tabs and the one person who knows how approvals work is on holiday.
So the tagline, "Email marketing, mille fois better", isn't a promise to make anything a thousand times better overnight. It's about making the loop a little quicker and a little safer each time you go round it, and keeping a record of every turn so the next one is easier.
Another system? We know.
The last thing most email teams want is one more login. You already have your ESP, a project tool, a chat tool, a shared drive, and a spreadsheet someone built three years ago that only they really understand.
So Mailfois isn't meant to sit on top of that pile. It's meant to take things off it. In most teams it replaces:
- The campaign calendar spreadsheetA planner built for email, with each market's stage and send date.
- Approval threads, screenshots and PDFsReview rounds with versions, comments and a record of who approved what. Clients approve from a private link.
- The brand guidelines PDF nobody opensA brand kit that Brand Guard checks every email against.
- The shared drive of old emailsA searchable library of every approved email.
- The copy-and-paste sheet for translatorsA translation brief pulled straight from the email preview.
- An image editor, DNS lookup sites and a bookmarks folderAn image resizer with alt text, a deliverability auditor and the team's handy links, all in the toolkit.
What it doesn't replace is your ESP. You keep building and sending in Klaviyo, Braze, Salesforce, Mailchimp or whatever you use today. Nothing to migrate.
How a campaign flows through it.
Most of the time lost in an email programme isn't in any single step. It's in the gaps between them: the builder waiting to hear the copy is final, the approver who didn't know it was ready, the translator working from last week's version. Mailfois joins the steps up, so the next person knows it's their turn and has what they need.
1 · Plan
Get it on the calendar
Every campaign on one plan, with each market's stage and send date, and build, sign-off and send dates that stay in order.
2 · Build
Build with everything to hand
The builder picks it up from the plan, works through the team's checklist, and has the image and translation tools in the same place.
3 · Check
Catch it before a reviewer does
Brand Guard checks the email against the brand kit: colours, fonts, buttons, footer, alt text. The obvious fixes never cost a review round.
4 · Approve
Sign off with a trail
Named approvers, versioned rounds and change requests that say what to change. Clients approve from a private link, with no account.
5 · Send
Send where you always do
The approved version and its send date go to your ESP as normal. Mailfois knows what was approved and when it went.
6 · Remember
Keep it for next time
Approved emails file themselves in the library, searchable by month, market and campaign. Next year's Black Friday starts from this one.
All of it sits above your ESP. No migration, no change to how you send.
For email teams anywhere, private by design.
Mailfois is built for two kinds of team: in-house email and CRM teams, often sending to several countries and languages, and agencies running email for several clients, each with their own brand and approvers. It works the same whether you send to one market or twenty.
It takes your data seriously. The free tools run entirely in your browser, so your campaigns are checked on your own machine and never uploaded. Workspace data is stored in the UK (London), with access controlled row by row, and every client workspace is kept separate from the others.
Your campaigns, your history and your brand rules stay yours. No ads, no reselling data, no lock-in — you can export and walk away whenever you like.
