The short answer
- Choose Litmus if your problem is rendering: seeing an email in 100+ email clients and dark mode, spam testing, and native connections to platforms such as Klaviyo, Salesforce and HubSpot.
- Choose Mailfois if your problem is the process: the plan by market, mock-ups, translation, brand checks, sign-off with a record, and a library of everything sent.
- Many teams use both: Mailfois for plan, translate and sign off; Litmus for the final rendering test.

Frequently asked questions
Is Mailfois a Litmus alternative?
Partly. Mailfois doesn’t take real screenshots in dozens of email clients, which is Litmus’s core. Its Brand Guard does run the code checks teams use Litmus for (Gmail clipping, Outlook problems, dark mode, accessibility, preview text, spam phrases and risky links), with a phone, desktop, dark mode and images-off preview, and it replaces the review, approval and planning that teams often bolt onto Litmus.
How much does Litmus cost?
Litmus no longer publishes prices; its pricing page asks you to contact sales. Third-party reports put its Core plan at $500 a month for five users from August 2025.
Can I use Litmus and Mailfois together?
Yes. Plan, mock up, translate and sign off in Mailfois, then run the final rendering and spam tests in Litmus before sending from your email platform.
