Mailfois vs Miro for email teams: do you still need Miro?

Miro is the best-known online whiteboard. Mailfois has whiteboards too, built into the email workflow. Here’s when an email team still needs Miro, and when it doesn’t.

The short answer

  • Choose Miro if you want one whiteboard for the whole company: 7,000+ templates, diagramming, many integrations and room for every team.
  • Choose Mailfois if the board is about emails: real emails from your Library, Planner, mock-ups and sign-offs on the board, ideas promoted straight into the plan, and journeys that become automations.
  • Many email teams don't need both: Mailfois boards cover brainstorms, kick-offs, retros and journey workshops, and they come with the rest of the email workflow.

Who’s writing this: I’m Liam Kane and I built Mailfois, so I’m not neutral. I’ve tried to be fair about where the other tool is the better choice. Facts and prices come from each company’s own website and help pages, checked on 18 October 2026.

  • Company-wide workshops and diagrams beyond email.
  • A huge template library and community templates.
  • Many integrations with other tools.
  • Richer facilitation, such as timer music and video chat.

Mailfois is better for

  • Brainstorms and workshops where the cards are your real emails.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mailfois a Miro alternative?

For email work, often yes. Mailfois boards have sticky notes, shapes, connectors, frames, templates, dot voting, a timer and live cursors, and they hold real emails from your Library, Planner, Studio and sign-offs. For general diagrams, org charts or company-wide workshops, Miro is the broader tool.

How much does Miro cost?

Miro's pricing page lists Free, Starter at $8 per member per month and Business at $20 per member per month, both billed yearly, and custom-priced Enterprise from 30 members. The Free plan keeps your three most recent boards editable.

Can I use Miro and Mailfois together?

Yes. Some teams keep Miro for company-wide workshops and use Mailfois boards for anything about emails, because the cards there are the emails themselves and the best ideas move straight into the Planner.
