Mock it up before anyone builds it

Wireframe a new email in minutes, or mock it up from modules cut from your best emails. Check it against your brand, get it signed off, then copy the code into your email platform.

How Studio mock-ups work, in 23 seconds. No sound. The companies, people and emails are made up.

Most emails start as a copy of last month's, or a sketch in a slide deck, or a Slack message that says "like the spring one, but with the new product". Then the builder makes it, the team sees it for the first time in review, and half of it changes.

Studio moves that conversation before the build. Everyone agrees what the email is, and the builder starts from something already approved.

A module bank from your real emails

Open any email in your Library, hover over it and click the parts you'd reuse: the header, a hero, a product grid, an offer, the footer. Each one is saved as a module, with its styles, so it looks exactly like it did in the email. Share them with the team, or keep them private.

Wireframes, the quick way

No design yet? Start with grey wireframe blocks: a logo, a hero image box, a headline, a button, products and a footer. Type the real copy straight in, or notes for the copywriter. Click an image box to describe the picture, or sketch it with a simple drawing pad.

Mock-ups and team templates

  • Stack modules into an email, then click any words to change them, and any image or link to swap it.
  • Preview on desktop and phone, and send yourself a test.
  • Save it as a template, so the team starts every newsletter or offer email from the same layout.
  • Start from the plan: "Mock it up" on any campaign in the planner, and the builder sees it as the brief.
  • The team's images: a shared set of pictures with alt text, ready for any image box. Put a headline or button on one with Text on an image, contrast checked.

Checked and signed off before it's built

Run the same brand checks as sign-off on the mock-up, then send it for sign-off as a mock-up. Approvers see exactly what's coming, and changes happen while they're cheap.

Then build it where you send

Copy or download the HTML and paste it into your email platform's code editor as a starting point. Klaviyo, Braze, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce: Studio works alongside all of them, and always test the final email from your ESP before it goes out.

What it isn't

  • It isn't an ESP or a drag-and-drop email builder that sends. It's where emails are tried out and agreed.
  • It doesn't render your email in dozens of email clients. For that, see our comparison of Litmus alternatives.

Questions

Do I need design skills to use Studio?

No. You stack modules cut from emails you've already sent, or grey wireframe blocks, then click to change the words and images. You can sketch an image with a simple drawing pad.

Does Studio replace my ESP's editor?

No. Studio is for trying an email out and getting it agreed before it's built. Copy or download the HTML as a starting point, then build and send in your ESP as usual.

Can my team share modules and templates?

Yes. Every module, mock-up and template can be shared with the whole team or kept private, and anyone on the team can start a new mock-up from a template.
