Brand drift in email is slow and expensive. A new builder uses last year's button colour, an agency uses a font the brand dropped, a footer loses the registered address, and nobody notices until the brand team does. Reviewing by eye catches some of it, some of the time.
Your brand, written down once
- Colours and fonts that are allowed, and ones that aren't.
- Buttons: shape, colours and sizes.
- Footer rules: what must always be there, such as an unsubscribe link, a postal address and the company details.
- Learn from an email: paste an email you're happy with and Mailfois suggests the rules.
What each check covers
- Brand: colours, fonts, button colour and shape, gradients, email width and required footer text, against your kit.
- Accessibility: images without alt text, button text contrast, text below your minimum size, small tap targets, skipped heading levels and vague link text such as "click here".
- Deliverability and the law: a missing or broken unsubscribe link, no postal address in the footer, image-only or image-heavy emails, spam-trigger phrases, scripts, and layout code that email clients don't support.
Brand Guard is rule-based, not AI. It doesn't guess: every finding states exactly what's wrong, where, and how to fix it, and the same email always gets the same result.
Built into sign-off
Every email that goes for sign-off is checked automatically, so approvers see the findings next to the email and a clean result becomes part of the approval record. Agencies keep a separate brand kit for each client.
Brand Guard also warns when a footer isn't one your Legal team has approved: see legal and specialist sign-off. For headlines on images, Text on an image checks the contrast against the picture itself.
Compliance as well as brand
In Ireland, every marketing email sent in breach of the ePrivacy Regulations is a separate criminal offence. Brand Guard's footer rules make sure every email names the sender and carries a working opt-out, and the sign-off record shows who approved each email and when. See our guide to Irish email law.
Pricing
Every plan includes a basic Brand Kit (colours, fonts, footer rules) and Brand Guard checks on emails in sign-off; Free includes 5 manual checks a month, and paid plans add the full kit and unlimited checks. See the pricing page.
Questions
Does Brand Guard use AI?
No. It's rule-based: it checks the email's code against the rules in your brand kit, so results are consistent and every finding has a clear fix.
Can it check emails from any ESP?
Yes. Bring the email in by preview link or HTML from Klaviyo, Braze, Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp or any other platform.
Can agencies have a brand kit per client?
Yes. Each client workspace has its own brand kit, and the agency sees checks across every client.
Is it legal advice?
No. It checks for the things laws commonly require, such as an unsubscribe link and postal address, but it isn't legal advice.
